SENIOR PLANT OPERATOR – PERMANENT FULL TIME – GUNDAGAI

Applications are invited from motivated and interested individuals for the Permanent Full-time position of Senior Plant Operator based at our Gundagai Depot.

If you have good work ethic, have commitment to safety, are self-motivated and have previous experience in plant operation, we would like to hear from you. 

Statement of function:

To operate articulated vehicles to undertake Council works as directed by the Supervisor and contributes to the manual labour pool within the Works Section of the Engineering Services Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensures truck is operated effectively and efficiently to achieve Council’s goals and objectives.
  2. Ensures truck is maintained on a daily basis following manufacturer’s specifications.
  3. Ensures plant is operated and loaded in a safe manner following safe work method statements and manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Ensures truck is correctly and securely loaded to weight and safety limits and driven according to road regulations.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $1,155.45 to $1,351.85 gross per week
  • 11.5% superannuation
  • 9 day fortnight working arrangement

Senior Plant Operator PD – Gundagai

Essential Desirable Criteria – Senior Plant Operator

PLANT OPERATOR – GUNDAGAI (F/T)

Applications are invited from interested individuals for a permanent full time Plant Operator  role based at our Gundagai Depot. Duties may also be required to be undertaken at our Cootamundra Depot on an as needs basis.

This position will require the employee to operate various items of plant, undertaking Council works as directed by the Works Coordinator and contribute to the manual labour pool within the Civil Works Department.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ensures plant is operated effectively and efficiently to achieve Council’s goals and objectives, including patching truck when required.
  2. Ensures plant is maintained on a daily basis following manufacturer’s specifications, including patching truck when required.
  3. Ensures plant is operated and loaded in a safe manner following safe work method statements and manufacturer’s instructions, including patching truck when required.
  4. Ensures plant is correctly and securely loaded to weight and safety limits and driven according to road regulations.
  5. Complete all electronic/paper forms/books as required or directed.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $1,070.76 – $1,252.90 gross per week
  • 11.5% super guarantee levy payable by Council
  • 9-day fortnight working arrangement

Plant Operator – Gundagai PD

Essential Desirable Criteria – Plant Operator – Gundagai

WHS & Risk Officer – Cootamundra

Applications are invited from interested persons for the full-time position of WHS & Risk Officer based at our Cootamundra office.

This is a professional role that includes administering Council’s Workplace Health, Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures, insurances, audits and registers.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensure Council’s policies and procedures in relation to Work Health and Safety and the management of public liability and risk comply with legislative requirements, reflect industry best practice and are consistent with AS/NZS ISO 13000:2209 Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines.
  2. Manage and administer Council’s suite of insurance policies.
  3. Develop and maintain Council’s asset data bases and registers for risk management, insurance, WHS and asset management purposes.
  4. Ensure periodic risk management, asset and WHS audits are routinely undertaken.
  5. Ensure employees and external contractors are inducted and trained in WHS policy and procedures and are informed of their responsibilities under the relevant legislation.
  6. Ensure public liability and WHS risks and hazards are controlled and minimized through continual monitoring and review of Council’s Risk Management and WHS policies and procedures.
  7. Perform the role of WHS Committee Secretary and promote a culture of continuous improvement in WHS awareness and practice at all levels within Council.
  8. Coordinate the Drug and Alcohol procedures and follow up with actions.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $1,482.61 to $1,734.30 gross per week

CASUAL LABOURER – WORKS – COOTAMUNDRA

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above position of Casual Labourer – Works  based at our Cootamundra Depot.

This position performs manual tasks as directed by the Works Supervisor and/or Works Foreman to meet Council’s Operational Plan requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensure work tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, as directed by supervisors.
  2. Work and tasks are conducted responsibly ensuring the safety for self and fellow employees.
  3. Act as traffic controller (subject to qualification) when required, ensuring the safety of the general public and fellow employees on or near a work site.

Benefits

  • Casual Hourly Rate $33.27 (includes 25% loading)
  • 11.5% Superannuation
