The famous and fabulous Wattle Time Street parade has been heralded by many as the one event within the overall Wattle Time celebrations that brings back the most memories.
From the colourful floats and spectacular restored vehicles, many residents remember fondly either taking part in the parade or being amongst the hundreds who have lined Parker Street in Cootamundra to mark the beginning of a day full of festivities and fun.
Registrations are now open for organisations, individuals, clubs, and community groups to register to enter the colourful street parade and make memories for all who participate and spectate.
CGRC’s Tourism and Economic Development Officer, Ms Leah Sutherland said the parade has always been a highlight of the Wattle Time Festival and is urging potential participants to register.
“This parade has been the most requested part of the overall Wattle Time events program, and we need participants. The registration form has seen over 1000 hits on the Council website, as yet we haven’t received enough registrations to proceed.”
This is such an important aspect of the whole festival, and numbers participating will only make it more memorable. If you are a member of a club or organisation only one registration is required for participating members.
The overall costs to close streets and provide the expected safety conditions for this event have risen exponentially, to make it achievable we need as many participants as possible,” Ms Sutherland added.
If people need assistance, with the registration form, or would like to participate in the parade, please contact Ms Sutherland at CGRC on 1300 459 689.
