The major project currently underway in Cootamundra’s Hovell Street is progressing well with Stage 1 of the project almost completed.
Stage 1 has seen the closure of Campbell Street (between Sutton and Hovell Streets). The area was excavated to a depth of 470 mm, filled with a subbase material, capped with a base material and will be finished with an asphalt wearing surface. New kerb and guttering is being installed. The Stage 1 section is expected to reopen on 28 March (weather permitting) with Stage 2 commencing from 31 March where a partial closure of Hovell Street between Campbell and Cowcumbla Streets will be in place.
The project is funded by Fixing Local Roads grant and is expected to be completed in June.
Motorists are urged to obey traffic signage and signals in the area.
