Councillors at Tuesday night’s Ordinary Meeting of Council resolved in accordance with s296(5) of the Local Government Act 1993, that Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council will enter an election arrangement with the NSW Electoral Commission and contract the NSW Electoral Commission to conduct the election for Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) on 14 September 2024.

Local government elections will be held across the state on the 14 September and ratepayers and interested residents are encouraged to stand for office.  To be nominated as a candidate for an election in a local government area, you must be enrolled to vote in the local government area by 6pm Monday, 5 August 2024. The nomination period commences Monday, 5 August 2024 and ends at 12 noon Wednesday, 14 August 2024. You may be nominated by either: a registered political party; or two electors.
