The Gundagai Lions Club have supplied two seats for Gundagai’s Lindley Park and the walking track between Punch and
Sheridan overlooking Jones Creek.
The seats made from environmentally friendly recycled plastic slates will provide a welcome place for parents to watch
over their youngsters whilst playing in Lindley Park and a respite spot along the picturesque walking trail.
The seats are an Australian manufactured Sustainable Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) and are durable, low maintenance
and environmentally friendly.
Gundagai Lions Club spokesperson Lion Des Manton said the club had allotted many structures to public places over the
years.
“Our public seating project has been going since 1973, we like to work with Council to identify spaces and provide the
structures that the community can use and benefit from,” Lion Des said.
Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC), mayor Cr Abb McAlister said the Lions Club gesture has enhanced
these spaces.
“This gift from the Lions Club is a great example of community organisations working with Council to enhance public
spaces and add a little comfort for those who use them. Along with all I applaud the Lions Club for their collaboration
with Council and the supply of these seats,” Cr McAlister said.
