Motorists are advised changed traffic conditions will be in place from this week on the Olympic Highway as Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council continues road maintenance work at near Cootamundra.
The Olympic Highway at The Gap, three kilometres south of Cootamundra will be closed on Wednesday 19th between 09.00am and 3.00pm and Tuesday 25th February between 7am and 6pm while drainage is upgraded as part of a project to improve safety.
Residents using Back Brawlin Road may experience short stoppages tomorrow (19th) while a light pole is relocated near the intersection with the Olympic Highway.
Vehicles will be detoured via the Hi-Vehicle Bypass using Dirnaseer Road, Suttons Lane, Old Cootamundra Road and Stockinbingal Road, adding up to 10 minutes travel time to journeys on these days.
Outside of these closures, work will continue between 7am and 6pm weekdays under single lane road closures and reduced speed limits.
The safety upgrade, which includes rebuilding the road surface, improving drainage and safety barriers, is expected to be completed by Thursday 30 April 2020, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
