Residents urged to report faulty streetlights

Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council, (CGRC) would like to inform residents on how they can report faulty streetlights.

Residents have the option of calling CGRC administration offices and report the location of a faulty streetlight to the Customer Service Team, who will in turn report the issue to Essential Energy.

Essential Energy released a statement that outlines their commitment to public lighting and gives residents the option of reporting directly to them. The statement reads:

Essential Energy recognises the importance of public lighting and is committed to maintaining streetlights in good working order in regional towns and villages. To ensure the prompt repair of streetlights, Essential Energy encourages residents to report any streetlights that are faulty or out of operation.

Acting Community Relations Manager, Southern, Sarah Braybon said maintaining streetlights is an important service that Essential Energy provides, helping to ensure the public safety of the local community.

“Streetlights play a very important part in our communities and as such, I urge residents who see a faulty streetlight to dob it in to Essential Energy,” Sarah said.

“The sooner streetlights are reported as faulty, the sooner our locally-based Essential Energy crews can make repairs.”

“By reporting faulty streetlights, people can assist us to ensure that public lighting services are reliable and safe and meet community expectations,” Sarah said.

Faulty streetlights can be reported by calling Essential Energy on 13 20 80 or via mobile phone by downloading the NeatStreets app which is available for IPhone or IPad, Android and Windows Phone.
