Free entry is being offered to the Sir Donald Bradman Birthplace Museum in Adams Street Cootamundra on Saturday 25th August and Monday 27th August to commemorate “The Don’s” 110 birthday.
The humble cottage formally operated as a small private hospital in the early 1900’s. Mid-wife, Granny Scholz, delivered “The Don”, in the front room on the 27th August 1908. That small baby would go on to become “The greatest batsman the world has ever known”.
The birthplace cottage contains memorabilia of Sir Donald Bradman, Cootamundra and district and cricket collectibles.
The Birthplace Museum is an initiative of the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council and is staff by a band of dedicated volunteers. A morning tea will be on offer on Monday 27th August for all volunteers to mark the occasion.
