The Power of Community is the theme for Local Government Week in 2018. Running from 30th July to 5th August Local Government Week provides the perfect opportunity to promote the importance of local councils to residents, ratepayers, businesses – the entire community
As part of Local Government Week 2018, Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council is inviting members of the public to visit both Council Chambers and have the opportunity to meet with Councillors. An opportunity for school students to meet with Councillors will also be held in both Cootamundra and Gundagai
The public sessions are being held to encourage local residents, ratepayers and business owners to meet with Councillors and CGRC Staff and discuss Council and Local Government issues
Sessions will be held as follows:
Alby Schultz Centre, Cooper Street, Cootamundra
Tuesday 31st July 2018
10am – 11am for local schools
11.00am – 12.00pm for members of the public.
Council Chambers, Gundagai
Wednesday 1st August
10am – 11am for local schools
11.00am – 12.00pm for members of the public.
Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council mayor Cr Abb McAlister said he encourages interested people to attend these sessions.
“NSW councils provide invaluable services to local communities, 365 days a year. While many people are aware that councils manage rates, roads and rubbish, the breadth and diversity of their work often goes unrecognised. We hope people will come along and meet with councillors and staff and hopefully learn a little more about the workings of council,” Cr McAlister said.
Please RSVP to the Council on 1300 459 689 to register your interest.
