Due to the increased requirements for protection of the public during public events especially for street parades, changes to the road closures for the ANZAC Day march and future street parades have been directed upon Councils by the State and Federal Government.
Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council is informing the community of road closures for this year’s Anzac Day marches. As such for the ANZAC Day parade, the road closures will be a lot more stringent than in previous years.
For the Gundagai event, both ends of Sheridan Street will be closed from Kitchener Street to the Cenotaph. Vigil, Homer, Byron and Kitchener Streets along with Sheridan Lane will be closed from 10:00am to 12 noon.
For the Cootamundra event, the closures of Parker St from Mackay St to Bourke St and Bourke St from Parker St to Sutton St will be implemented commencing at 5:00am with the streets to be open again after midday.
During the closure no vehicles will be able to enter or exit the site as the roads will be physically closed utilising fixed barriers. If you park in these locations normally and need to exit during this time, you will need to leave your car outside of the road closed area. Council apologises for the inconvenience caused.
Any queries relating to the closure, please contact Council’s Manager Civil Works Mark Ellis on 1300 459 689.
